Whether you are newly engaged or just days to go until your big day, you need to know 2 things: the heimlich maneuver & how to breathe like you are in a lamaze class. But all jokes aside, Wedding Planning is WEDDING PLANNING in all seriousness. We know this is the moment you have been waiting for since you were a little girl and it has to be JUST right. Fortunately, the wedding community loves themselves some newbee brides and there is so much to SEE and prep as you gear up for your dream day. With that being said, here are few tips to get into full planning mode!

Let's talk about your home office. You know the one that stores the clothes you don't wear, the mail you never opened, the computer that stopped working 3 years ago? Take an evening or a lazy Sunday to really clean it up and wipe the dust off the curtains. Make this a retreat for you to spend time on those much needed nights on Pinterest and days searching for the ideal vendor.

Websites such as Rusell + Hazel are great for specific wedding needs and nicknacks you can use that are designed to help you organize your wedding planner, day-by-day. We love the planing notebook, it is a great hands on tool to store all of your calendar information & business cards!
Don't forget funky colors and chic office ware, make your home office a place of refuge as you battle the busy days ahead!

We saw this and fell in love! What a GENIUS idea to comprise when your mind and fingers can pin no longer! Simply hang up some clip boards (in a fashionable manner) and sort out the clippings, articles and designs that you have saved throughout the years. Seeing everything laid out can help you began to visualize your theme & colors. If you are nearing your wedding, use this as a tool to make sure nothing gets missed!

When planning ahead, look into events within your community or city. Search local venues for your wedding by attending "open house" events that are free to attend and only for a few hours. You can casually walk around, browse the fancily clad vendor set ups, and really get a taste for the type of wedding you want or new ideas you might not have thought of. Poetry Photo Booths takes part & pride in the bridal faire's and open houses we appear at. It is a delightful opportunity to meet face to face with owners, planners, photographers, and florists in the industry. We have to admit, the best vendors however, are the foodies mmmm mmm!! Free snacks, wedding tips and lots of goodies to take home to hang on that "oh, so crafty" wall of ideas you created (see above!)
The Nixon Library Open House is the perfect example. We recently attended their Open House on March 18th, their venue is located in Yorba Linda and is an elite Orange County venue that we recommend to any of our clients!

And of course, visit your favorite photo booth as a "bride to be"!

One of the most important things you can do is to create a budget from the get go! Make a list of all the vendors and things you absolutely need and the cost for each. Make sure to check out i-do-it-yourself.com, download their uber handy PDF's to keep in your binder for your daily finds. If you are constantly on your iPad or iPhone, try making your own budget friendly Google spreadsheet & while your at it, follow us via Gmail, on Google+ for more tips, deals and news!
Most of all, Organized Bride...you can do it!

January 31, 2012

It's the end of January and we know this coming weekend is time for BBQ'n, Superbowl commercials and double dipin' (or, shopping while the hubby and his buddies timeout for the big game) We want to give you a little "Pre-Season Poetry" mixed with some tasteful Superbowl party ideas for everyone! I mean if this isn't a double wammy, we don't know what is! So let's kick start this show into full gear as we unveil what we have in line for Poetry this wedding season :)
So far January has been a wonderful month for us here at Poetry Booths! We are involved in so many projects and events. As a unique enterpreneurship and a wedding vendor, we look forward to the many opportunities and friendly faces we are yet to meet along the way.

Idalia and Pablo Garcia are the epitome of love and happiness! When we had the opportunity to announce to them that they were our winners of our 2011 Couple of the Year contest we received an outburst of happiness that made us proud to have them as our clients for life!
Idalia shared with us her comedic story & well, we just had to share it with you!
"We are so happy Poetry team has chosen us ! I have a silly/funny story. I'm in bed last night looking at my messages from Facebook and start screaming HONEY HONEY! I jump out of bed and start to run out of our bedroom just as Pablo is running in thinking something is terribly wrong from my screams, we run into each other and fall flat on our butts! I'm laying on the floor cracking up because he is all worried and I'm screaming with sheer excitment about winning the contest. Oh what I would have given to see that moment captured on film...You had to be there!"
Idalia & Pablo, from the Poetry Team, we couldn't be happier to be part of your lives. Remember, you too can be our next Couple of the Year, simply attend an event hosted with Poetry and submit your picture to us telling us why you deserve the title, email info@poetrybooths.com!

We are proud and honored to be a part of our good friends, Ingri:Dahl's "Kickstarter" project to launch their Spring 2012 collection of 3D sunglasses. We met these two beauties in Los Angeles at an after party hosted by GenLux for Fashion's Night Out, last September.

Ever since, we have helped each other through Twitter and Facebook expand each other's social media presence through support and notoriety! Thus when asked to contribute to their unique Kickstarter endeavour, we jumped on board! A few days ago we were notified that together, our help, along with 330 other backers has allowed these Norwegian Designer 3D glasses to be successfully funded. What an accomplishment! One of the perks from our donation: a pair of our very own 3D sunglasses which we will happily show off in our photo booth! Every little effort goes a long way, that is after all, how the game is played, right? You can purchase and support Ingri:Dahl too, click here for more information on their trendsetting idea.

As preferred vendors of the Grand Tradition Estate we were proud to attend their 22nd annual Wedding Dreams Bridal Faire. If you know anything about The Grand Tradition Estate in Fallbrook, CA it is it serenity and beauty. The venue consists of two wedding locations, Arbor Terrace and Beverly Mansion. We were lucky enough to have our booth set up inside the Beverly Mansion for this event!

Being personally invited by President and CEO Don McDougal was an honor in itself! We truly look forward to attending their next affair and we hope you will have the opportunity to as well. If you are bride-to-be, newly engaged or an event planner, take a look at the Grand Tradition Estate and leave with full certainty that this is the perfect premiere wedding destination in San Diego! Their history, timelessness and elegance is the whole package for your once in a lifetime special day!
No wedding directory is more complete and thorough for a a bride and her groom than Style Unveiled. Having done our research, we knew that Poetry Booths needed to be a part of our future clients ultimate experience!

We are proudly members in rheir photography sections in the San Diego and Los Angeles metro areas. Thus to take our "goal" one step further, we decided to give our first-timers a "Swag Bag Offer" which includes 15% off the purchase of our most popular package!

This Superbowl gameday as you and your family & friends huddle up to support your favorite team or your worst "frienemy" make sure to have the right finger foods in hand! Now remember, just because football season is over, doesn't mean Wedding season is, so stay on track with "healthy" yet conventional foodie recipes.

We scouted some of the top websites to bring you the most flavorful abundance of goodness this Superbowl Sunday! Just keep your little hands out of the photo booth and we won't call a flag!
So there you have it! (Ok, not the Vince Lombardi trophy..) But a play-by-play of your team, Poetry Booths!
We hope you have a wonderful game day!
P.S. Remember to watch Mr. Quigly (french bulldog) in the Skecher's Superbowl ad, ain't he something?

Cheers!
